Why is The Born Loser comic strip still running in Newspapers in 2021?

The Comic Strip I

 find Problematic

Hello to all of the comic strip fans. As you know there's a comic strip that is still continuing to this day in 2021. In one of the newspapers from the Daily Herald from Provo Utah and in the USA is a comic strip called "The Born Loser" as seen in the Go Comics website link Today on The Born Loser - Comics by Art and Chip Sansom - GoComics

The Born Loser comic strip has started in 1965 by the comic strip artist Art Sansom. This comic strip was originally created by Art Samson in 1965 he made comic strips and won the 1987 National Cartoonists Society Humor Comic Strip Award and the 1990 Newspaper Comic Strip Award which I'm very surprised since it's one of the worst comic strip of all time by many comic strip readers including myself. Art Samson continued this comic strip work until his death in 1991. Then his surviving son Chip Sansom took over and is still drawing the repeated comic strips to this day.

He created this comic strip to focus on the main man named Brutus Thornapple who has bad luck in his everyday life, he is lousy at golf and his coworker is a jerk to him, he gets bad customer service in the restaurant. He whines and complains about life all the time and tries to get out of work.

Chip Samson the current author. He is keeping the comic strip going for his fathers sake. If feels this comic is insensitive to overweight people and making jokes about fat shaming and fun of people which I think is not nice.

Brutus has a lousy office work job with a greedy selfish man named Rancid W. "Rank" Veeblefester who yells at him and puts him down and is never grateful. He is like Ebenezer Scrooge from a Christmas Carol. He always gets away with bullying his workers especially Brutus and always talks about himself and only cares about hoarding bags of money.

When Brutus is home it isn't much better for him, as his wife Gladys Thornapple always bosses him around and complains about life and always argues with him. Yet they somehow quickly make it up.

Glady's mother in law Ramona Gargle is mean and she is super bossy to Brutus, she fat shames Brutus and is critical about every little thing and her hair is a mess and she looks like a witch.

Brutus son Wilberforce Thornapple is a good boy, but he also has bad luck like his dad. He doesn't like homework and wish it would disappear forever and complains about life from time to time. He is friends with Hurricane Hattie O'Hara who they fight with sometimes. And Hurricane Hattie always picks on Brutus and she dresses up like she's from Anne of Green Gables. Uncle Ted is easygoing and can deal with life problems.

That's the premise of the comic strip. Now I don't know how many people are actually reading the comic strip in newspapers or online but it has about 72,615 followers. I wonder why are people reading it? I don't see any news articles about people following The Born Loser. The Born Loser was created during the baby boomer, hippies era.

There are now many of the rising generation don't know what The Born Loser comic strip is and they are more into popular culture involving superheroes like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Power Rangers, Pokemon, Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor, Spiderman and many more superheroes.

Nobody in the rising generation really knows or really cares about what the 1950s or 1960s comics are. The Family Circus is out of touch with reality and the audience since it focus on the white family and doesn't focus on different families, Dennis the Menace isn't relatable with the times anymore as the  boy problems of the 2020s are different than in the 1950s and it doesn't touch on the darker subjects of childhood like Calvin and Hobbes did which is a better comic strip.

It's true that The Born Loser comic strip is still somewhat relevant but it's becoming more out of touch with reality. It doesn't focus on cultural diversity, it only focus on white people, it doesn't show the actual problems of society, and cringing jokes people don't like.

I'm surprised Chip Samson is still making The Born Loser comic strip panels. He is over 70 years old and he's making comic strips, he needs to retire from his comic strip job. Nobody reads newspapers anymore except for the older generation. There are still some people who read comics  online but I feel that with the 72,615 followers they think it's funny to make fun of people.

Because the younger audience wants positive uplifting progressive stories and that are upbeat, happy and relatable. Current People don't like The Born Loser because they are constantly whining and complaining about life and never solving their problems. Also the title The Born Loser makes it sound like they won't fix their problems.

To the current author, I would suggest that you empower your characters to change and fix their problems so that we can inspire readers that they can change their own lives too.

In conclusion, I hope this comic The Born Loser needs to retire or change from the newspapers and on the Go Comics Website. Since it's just as bad as the News events this comic isn't making people happy.  I hope the publisher Newspaper Enterprise Association, convince him to update his current comic to make modern changes including a change in the title.

Dude it's now 2015, Where's my hoverboard?

Dude Where's the Hover age?

As you know I've posted my picture last year of my Wheres my hoverboard 2014 last year. As you know this may be the last time I'll rant and complain about no hover age arriving.

We are now in the year 2015 and so far no hoverboards, hovercars, 3D hologram TVs. What happened to the BTTF 2 NES future we were promised?

I remember a long time ago in the year 1999 back in High School I was promised that in the year 2000 we would have flying hovercars, robots, and even hologram projectors that The Jetsons Promised me and also The Absent Minded Professor, Son of Flubber and Flubber remake promised me. When the year 2000 arrived, I was very disappointed that we still have wheel cars, wheel bikes, skateboards, rollerblades and flat screen TVs and computers and cell phones.

I'm sorry the future is a disappointment. I was hoping that the 20th century would be a thing of the past and that the Hover Age of Pinocchio 3000 would arrive.

List of Failed Future inventions.

1. Flying hovercars- Now I know that there's people worried about flying cars filling the skies which won't happen anytime soon. I have played BeamBreakers a futuristic PC game by JoWoods Studios where you drive a flying hovercar dodging hovercar traffic jams and hover cops. I know that if we were to have flying cars like that of BeamBreakers PC game. There would be potential for terrorist to hack into the hovercar system and cause the hovercars to crash into buildings or flying people or hovercars and cause them to crash.

Of course low hovercars would be better but sadly there's none available in the market. People in hovercars can hover over almost all terrain and trespass into the farmers property. Someday we'll get hovercars like in F-zero or Wipeout Fusion.

2. Hoverboards- I feel like that the hoverboards didn't get invented. Although there are maglev hoverboards but they will never be like the hoverboards of Treasure Planet or Wreck it Ralph, or ReBoot, or Eyetoy Antigrav. I wanted skateboards, rollerblades, and wheel bikes to get replaced by hoverboards, hoverbikes, hovershoes.

I think that it would be cool if hoverboards were invented but of course there would have to be safety rules about hoverboarding into private property and people would have to wear helmets to prevent getting hurt from hover falls.

3. 3D hologram Projectors- I thought that by now we would have 3D hologram TVs and computers into our houses by now. Sadly we still need bulky frames for our flat screen TVs and also the video projectors need walls or ceilings to show our picture on. Also I'm still waiting for hologram billboard ads to be everywhere although some people would get annoyed with holo ads. Please don't keep us waiting for hologram TVs or hologram cellphones or hologram Internet.

4. Advanced human robots- Even though robots were protrayed in movies and TV shows, it would be cool because they can do work for us. But I wouldn't want the terrorists to hack into robots and have them take over the world.

With my closing thoughts, I want the scientist to get on with working on the hover technology and hologram projector technology. Let's get it build before this world ends.
Let's keep moving forward.

Dude it's 2014 where's my hoverboard?

Hello hoverboard fans. As you know 2013 has come and gone and not one Treasure Planet or Wreck it Ralph hoverboard has arrived yet. We're in 2014 now and I don't know if anybody is waiting for the hoverboard depicted in the PG-13 swearing movie of BTTF 2. I thought that by now we would be driving compact wingless flying hovercars. I also thought we would be riding lightweight easy to carry hoverboards by now. I also thought we would watch 3D Hologram movies and TV shows and play 3D hologram video games and surf the 3D hologram Internet by now.

But here in this harsh reality of Earth we end up with crummy air cushion hoverboards and hovercrafts that have bad stabilization and poor steering, It also hurt our ears by the loud noise, it literally stinks bad, it breaks too easily, it's too freaking heavy to carry the bulky hoverboard around and not to mention it costs about between $1,000 to $10,000 or more to make a prototype.

I don't know why the scientist in Utah especially the Utah colleges of BYU, UVU, USU haven't spent their funding on hoverboard research. All people care about is this boring health care stuff and they spend millions of dollars on it or they spend their money on same old boring christian church and LDS church work and boring government work. So why won't they get involved in hoverboard and hovercar research? They need to start listening to my ideas and take them seriously.

Also what about the perfect 3D hologram projector that makes 3D glasses obsolete. This future stinks. The only inventions we have are just same old junk that don't do much to improve our lives in fact they hardly do anything for the hover age. All we have are flat screen tablets and small screen eye squinting phones and pocket tablets.

I don't know about you Internet readers but I'm beginning to get fed up with no hover age lifestyle coming. I only hope someone can beat me to the punch on building that Treasure Planet or Wreck it Ralph hoverboard or the 3D hologram projector because that's what I want to own and enjoy while I'm still alive.

I'll see what 2014 brings but it definitely won't be like the movies of "Pinocchio 3000", "Treasure Planet", "Meet the Robinsons", "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fast Forward" or the swearing, adult themed PG-13 movie of BTTF 2.

2 more years until hoverboards arrives

Image taken from Popular Mechanics magazines

Hello there, as you know 2012 has passed us by and we're into 2013 and not one single flying hovercar in the sky. Curse it!
Is this the future we were predicting full of flat screen TVs and monitors? Were we also expecting flat screen ipads, ipods and other flat screen tablets? Did we predict we would be driving in wheel cars, and flying in winged airplanes? Also are we going to continue to wear awkward 3D glasses that don't catch on? Sort of but sadly it's not advanced enough. The future we were expecting was 3D hologram projectors like this picture.
MS Paint image made by Ben R.
This is a 3D hologram projector I was promised we would one day own in our houses. We would be able to enlarge or shrink the 2D flat screen or 3D hologram image. We would have the ability to rotate it around however we want. But did we get one? No in fact people weren't doing enough research on it and if they were they are spending too much money to make it even practical. I hope this year in 2013 we can get our 3D hologram projectors in our homes to watch 3D movies, TV shows and play 3D video games and no more 3D glasses or one angle viewing. And I hope that we'll also get holo-tablets like in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fast Forward." Now here's the next thing I was waiting for and that's Treasure Planets hoverboard like this picture.

MS Paint image made by Ben R.
This is a hoverboard, that's right a hoverboard straight from "Treasure Planet" or "Wreck it Ralph"
We were promised hoverboards that would low hover with control and glide on air and be lightweight and easy to carry. Also we were promised hovercars like that in "Pinocchio 3000" or "Meet the Robinsons" that would also low hover and also be able to fly like a helicopter but even better and faster and safer. But instead we are stuck with that crummy air cushion hovercraft and air cushion hoverboard  which is loud and noisy you just have to wear earplugs and it smells of that awful gasoline which you pay lots of money for. Not only that the hoverboards wobble and struggle to hover only to go out of control. Also the ducted fan hoverboards and flying cars just aren't safe or user friendly and they have a tendency to wobble and flip over and fly too much like a bladed helicopter. The Moller Skycar is one good example of a struggling expensive project that hasn't taken off yet. Also the "Inspector Gadget" flying car-plane combo of Terrafugia is trying to sell for a ridiculous amount of $280,000 which most of American citizens cannot afford to buy or risk buying. But right now I don't see any of these flying cars catching on. Even if they do barely sell 1 or 2 of them. We aren't going to see any "Flubber" flying cars in our sky anytime soon.

Today we live in a world where people drive wheel cars with tires rolling on the asphalt road and roads costing money to be maintained every year by construction workers and we drive to the airport just to fly winged airplanes. Also the people in the government waste time on stupid pointless complicated politics which doesn't interest me. Also the people in the Government waste their money away over projects that don't work in the long run.

Everybody listen up, 2013 is here and now is the time to stop wasting our money on 20th century overtime junk and start spending it on hoverboard research, flying hovercar research, and 3D hologram research. If these future gadgets do work, we'll finally be out of the 20th century overtime and into the real "Pinocchio 3000" future world. Don't give up we will have hoverboards, flying cars and 3D holograms into our real world, otherwise we just wasted our time for nothing and denied our kids and grandkids hoverboards, hovercars and 3D holograms.

Where's my 3D hologram projector?

Hi there today I want to talk about the electronic gadget called the 3D hologram projector. We are now in the year 2012 and 3D holograms are nowhere to be found. Let me tell you what a hologram projector is. That's right the electronic sculpture where images float in midair without the restriction of the frame.

Now why don't we have 3D holograms?
I'll tell you why, because Hollywood people are trying to force those awful 3D glasses on us and make us accept them. But you know what it's not going to work. Because 3D glasses make your eyes dizzy, give you headaches, and strain our eyeballs even worse and even give us seizures. 3D viewing glasses wrecks the flat screen picture and makes the moving picture come out watery or double image effect.
Also to people that wear glasses like I do. The 3D glasses don't fit over our normal eyeglasses. And 3D glasses can get lost, stolen, scratched up, dirty and even broken. Not only that there are never enough 3D glasses to go around for people to wear. Also movie tickets get 4 times pricy than a normal ticket for perfect 2D flat screen movies. Also the 3D TVs are freaking expensive and not worth the buy except for HD enhancements for the flat screen.

Why are Hollywood people hanging on to those dorky 3D glasses?
Because people in Hollywood think that people will accept 3D glasses but so far the tread hasn't caught and thank dreams for that.
I don't like movie directors wasting their time with converting 2D movies into the ugly 3D effects. Also don't like it that the Disney company decides to turn their wonderful G rated movies like "Beauty and the Beast" "The Lion King" "Finding Nemo" into those ugly 3D glasses movies. Anyways I hope 3D glasses become a thing of the past. Another thing I don't like is one angle viewing 3D just like on the Nintendo 3DS. It's a little better not needing those dorky 3D glasses. But it is still limited to viewing 3D from one angle just like 3D glasses are.

Will the science fiction dream of a 3D hologram projector come true?
Now the real 3D movies, TV shows, video games, pictures I want to have are like the sculptures in museums being able to view the picture from almost all angles. The idea of a 3D hologram projector has been in movies and TV shows like "Reboot" "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fast Forward" "Treasure Planet" "Pinocchio 3000" "Meet the Robinsons". Those are movies and TV shows that show the true 3D hologram projector from the limitations of watching it from a flat screen video projector or flat TV screen. What's amazing about those 3D hologram projectors featured in movies are being able to watch 2D and 3D videos in midair from all 6 angles and people in those movies and TV shows never wear 3D glasses. That's what I want one day.

Now, do 3D hologram projectors exist?

Partly yes because scientist have built them. But unfortunately they are too big and bulky and their images are only in a red color or green color. Also they are freaking expensive costing up to millions and billions of dollars. But as for the small table sized holograms nobody has built one to work like in the movies yet. Right not we have video projectors but the downside is it can only show flat screen images, you need a dark room, and you need a wall it shine it on.

Will 3D hologram projectors ever be in our houses?
The answer is in the future. But as of right now, no. The only way 3D hologram projectors will be commonplace in stores, schools and in our houses is
1. They need to be small as a board game and be easy to carry around.
2. The price needs to be reduced to about $200 to $1000 for the customer to buy.
3. The 3D hologram images needs to movie and be shown clearly like 2D flat screens are.
4. Scientist need to perfect the 3D hologram projector.
5. People need to abandon the 3D glasses.
So in conclusion 3D holograms are not ready yet. Meantime we'll have to be stuck with watching flat screen TVs with frame restrictions. Don't give up hope it will come sooner than hoverboards and flying cars will.

The myths of a Delorean wheel car

I would not want to own a Delorean because
1. It has no CD player and no cassette player or computer features.
2. It's too freaking expensive just look at Terrafugias flying car $279,000 a ripoff.
3. It doesn't go as fast as other wheel cars.
4. It's old and outdated and parts for it are now hard to find and I find gull wing doors very tacky and would fall apart too easily.

Now to dispel the myths of the Delorean.

1. No you cannot time travel in and speeding up to 88 MPH will do nothing except go 1 second into the future as usual and put your life and wheel car at risk of crashing and getting in trouble with the police.
2. No it cannot low hover and fly. Even if it did it would be half a million dollars to own and would be dangerous to fly even crashing in midair and falling to the ground.
3. There's no way to time travel to the past and mess up history because all of us are bound by Gods law of traveling 1 second into the future. So you cannot rewind or fast forward to the future or skip there instantly. And if you did you would be flung into outer space or would be ripped apart and be dead.

In conclusion I would like to say that I'm grateful me and my family never owned one. Besides there are much better wheel cars that are much more reliable and much cheaper and better computer features like flat screen GPS and a CD player.
As for time traveling I'm thankful that no one has time traveled like in the Family friendly movie Meet the Robinsons or like the Super Nintendo video game Chrono Trigger.
But I'm sad I'm not able to go in a flying car joyride curse it. Unless you count the winged airplane or bladed helicopter ride as flying.
So buyer beware, of owning a Delorean you will end up wasting your money and be very disappointed. Buy the wheel cars of the 2010s because they are better. But make sure you need one and make sure it works well for you.
